Underwriter – Accident & Sickness Program

Underwrites new and renewal accounts to achieve established pricing guidelines and to meet profitability goals of the VFIS Accident and Sickness Program. Responsible for rating all new and renewal submissions and creating proposals. Accurately enters data to issue policies, endorsements and cancellations for designated territory.

Qualifications

Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle tasks on a priority basis is required to maintain consistent high quality and quantity of work. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while handling simultaneous tasks efficiently is necessary. Must have, or attain within three (3) months, and maintain a current life and health license and/or property-casualty license for Pennsylvania with appropriate other licenses as required. Must be comfortable working within a paperless environment and familiar with Microsoft Office products.
