QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: High School Diploma/equivalent. Two (2) years work-related experience in food service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversees areas where food is prepared/served to include: employee cafeteria, deli, unit dining rooms and kitchens and areas where catering functions are served.
Expedites food delivery areas for accuracy.
Oversees accurate production of all food items being served each day.
Reviews and checks all employees’ side work before employees leave for the day.
Maintains and inspects kitchen and service areas for sanitation and cleanliness.
Monitors work schedules for hourly employees.
Trains, motivates and disciplines employees as needed.
May implement employee disciple overseen by Dining Services Director or Director of Human Resources.
Ensures overall employee safety through the implementation of JHR safety policies and procedures. Follows established JHR safety regulations at all times and reports any unsafe conditions.
Sanitation: Follows established DOH regulations at all times throughout JHR follows clean as you go policy.
All other job duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: Heavy lifting, bending and constant standing are required for this position. Physical work intensity level 4.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Stressful time constraints. Ability to understand and use all food service equipment. Requires teamwork with co-workers. Strong emphasis is placed on safety and sanitation-clean as you go.
ADVERSE WORKING CONDITIONS: Requires person to work in a heat-filled area around hot foods and equipment, such as slicers, fryers, tilt skillets and steamers.
VARIABLES: Must be able to work all shifts, with primary shift from 7am to 3:30pm (day supervisor) 11:30-8pm (evening supervisor) and every third (3rd) weekend from 6:30 – 3:00pm as well as rotation of holidays.
