TITLE: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER
Full Time, 10-month position

Location: BOCES Smith School
DUTIES: Responsible for all aspects of teaching including but not limited to the development, implementation, and modification of Common Core Learning Standards/Curriculum, instruction, assessment, student supervision, home/school communication, etc. Ability to differentiate instruction is a necessity as students work towards the Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential. Serve as collegial team member on a large dynamic team supporting students up to the age of 21. Provide instruction to students with intellectual, physical, communication (nonverbal), and multiple disabilities. Maintain student records consistent with State and Federal regulations. Perform other duties as required. Previous experience with students with this population is preferred. Setting is in a 12:1:4 BOCES program.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be New York State Certified Students with Disabilities 7-12 Generalist OR hold Permanent NYS Special Education Certification K-12 OR hold Dual Certification.
START DATE: September 8, 2021.
SALARY: $47,750.00 (2 base salary, with additional salary credit for appropriate prior experience, Masters Degree and Grad Credits. Excellent benefits are available.
