Overview

The Senior .NET Developer at Jenner & Block will take a hands-on role in design and development of applications, databases, and other development artifacts within the organization. The Senior .NET Developer will provide thought leadership for the Data and Development Services team and will develop standards and best practices for development activities, source control, development tools, and other related areas. This is a hands-on position that will be expected to contribute and maintain high quality .NET code primarily in C#.

Primary Responsibilities

• Produce high quality, modular, reusable code that incorporates current best practices, and that serves as an example for less experienced developers
• Monitor and maintain existing applications including coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Act as a SME for business processes and suggest related improvements
• Mentor .NET developers and assist the Associate Director of Data and Development Services in developing the roadmap for development tools and capabilities
• Develop and maintain standards and best practices for application developers, including but not limited to build, source control, source code, and testing guidelines
• Train, mentor, and otherwise collaborate with team members to ensure conformance to standards, consistency, and quality of work
• Effectively translate business needs, both stated and implied, into workable solutions at all stages of the project process, from envisioning to end product delivery

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in designing and delivering business applications using .NET in a variety of platforms (ASP.Net, MVC, SharePoint, etc.)
• Strong command of essential technologies and frameworks (C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core, MVC, HTML5, JavaScript/CSS, JQuery, AJAX, XML/XSLT, LINQ, Entity Framework)
• Expert knowledge of software development processes and best practices utilizing .NET and related technologies such as Visual Studio 2019 and Git; strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Thorough knowledge of database design and SQL development, including creation of advanced SQL queries and stored procedures
• Thorough understanding of Object-Oriented design patterns and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), including technologies such as SOAP, WSDL, WCF and Web Services)
• Strong communication skills, including presentation skills and ability to tailor communications for the intended audience
• Ability to function at a high level in a very fast-paced environment where requirements and projects may change quickly
• Strong project management skills with proven ability to multi-task and maintain professional demeanor under pressure
• Demonstrated ability to stay current with industry best practices, existing and emerging technology platforms, and trends related to architecture and application development

Preferred Qualifications (not required)

• SharePoint development experience
• K2 workflow development
• SQL Server Reporting Services/Integration Services/Analysis Services (or other BI stack experience)
• PowerBI
• Telerik
• DevOps tools/methodologies
