Senior Cost Accountant

Position Overview:

Experienced cost accountant with a solid organizational, communication, problem-solving and research abilities. INFICON also seek strong technology expertise, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience with SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
• Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
• Conducts physical inventories and monitors cycle count program
• Establish standard costs and update them as appropriate
• Conduct inventory reserve analysis on a quarterly basis and generate reports for senior management
• Review overhead rates and labor rates used for standard costing
• Partner with operational management to improve controls, accuracy and quality of mfg. costs and resolve extraordinary variances
• Analyze and report on inventory variances of raw materials and finished good
• Maintain and update the cost accounting system and ensures accuracy of standard costs
• Support month-end close responsibilities; participate in year-end close and financial statement preparation
• Analyze and recommend cost saving opportunities

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards
• SAP experience a plus
• Minimum of 3-5 years experience (as applicable) in accounting and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting standards required
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience Required

• 2 – 5 years: Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment

• Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field
