Regulatory Risk VP/SVP

I’m working with a top bulge bracket bank in NYC looking to expand it’s US team in NYC. My client is in growth mode and as a result, are adding talent within their lean regulatory risk group. The position will report directly to the director/head of regulatory risk for their US Operations. The group focuses on managing regulatory-related matters and projects, and specifically sits within their reg. exam office.

This hire will be tasked with leading and owning the overall process of certain regulatory exams. You’ll be expected to lead/supervise regulatory exams for the bank on your own, communicating with risk SMEs across all risk stripes for the bank in order to draft submissions for regulators. Responsibilities include:

• Lead regulatory exams, prepare/schedule meetings, inquiries, and responses as needed
• Interact with risk stripe owners involved in the exam process
• Work closely with compliance on the exam process
• Enhance the Regulatory Exam Management framework
• Take part in remediation efforts, tracking progress
• Draft response letters to regulators

Required:

• Minimum 6 years experience in a regulatory risk function
• Direct experience leading/taking part in regulatory exams
• Be comfortable being the main point person on exams, acting as an extension of the director/operate with minimal oversight
• Knowledge of regulatory oversight regarding FRB, CFTC, FINRA, NFA, SEC, and other regulators
• General knowledge of the different risk stripes: market, credit, portfolio, model, liquidity, etc risks.
