As a Quality Control Engineer, you will oversee all quality-related aspects of the project, reporting directly to the Site Project Quality Control Manager. Your responsibilities will include providing support and assistance in all aspects of project quality management including management of subordinate quality staff personnel, scheduling of production quality testing, verifying project construction adherence to national standards and client specifications, and interface with client quality personnel. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with Quality Control Management in Heavy Industrial projects. This is a site position for a project in Coeymans, New York. Travel to Riggs Distler headquarters in Cherry Hill, New Jersey will be required.

Responsibilities:
Support the QC Manager with site management of all project quality operations throughout the entire duration of the project
Implementation of project specific Project Quality Plan (PQP) to assure the quality of work performed is in accordance with contract requirements
Management of contractual and normative documents
Communication with client regarding quality related items
Management of Subcontractors regarding quality related operations
Uniformization within the project approach
Assist in preparation of project specific quality documents
Monitoring the implementation of the approved quality documents in the organization
Assist in solving of quality related issues
Assist in management and support of subordinate Quality Control staff personnel, including NDT technicians, Civil Concrete Inspectors, Electrical Inspectors, and Coatings Inspectors
Education, Skills, Experience Needed:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Civil, Mechanical or Welding). Will accept equivalent combination of education and experience
3 to 5 years + experience in an Engineering/Quality Management role in Heavy Industrial Construction, recent college grads will be considered
AWS CWI certificate preferred, AWS Senior CWI is a plus
Strong communication skills and ability to interface with customer in a professional manner
Working knowledge and experience with NDT methods
Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite, Bluebeam experience and Oracle Aconex experience is a plus
Strong working knowledge of welding, structural, and concrete construction codes
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
Highly motivated and willing to learn and embrace an emerging industry in the US
