Process Scientist (Microbiology)

Regeneron is hiring a Process Scientist in the Process Sciences Downstream. The Process Scientist will join the Downstream Investigations Team with a focus on Process Microbiology. This position requires occasional off-shift and/or weekend work. Regeneron successfully manufactures a range of biopharmaceuticals for patients worldwide, including our approved therapeutic proteins and those involved in clinical studies. The Downstream Investigations Team supports production in many ways, including, investigating unexpected results, small-scale stability studies, qualifying raw materials, innovating the manufacturing processes, using small-scale models and complex data analysis of full-scale processing.

As a Process Scientist, a typical day might include the following:

• Identifying technical approaches to improve process microbiology characterization study quality and efficiency
• Developing a fundamental understanding of microbiological impacts to the manufacturing processes
• Design, execute, document, and present on small-scale experiments to improve process knowledge using statistical analysis (JMP)
• Identifying, developing, and implementing best in class technologies for microbiological detection and characterization in manufacturing facilities
• Automating of laboratory processes and data analyses
• Collaborating with scientific partner groups to leverage and share insights to achieve the greatest impact
• Coaching and mentoring within and beyond your team to inspire technical growth and quality results for Regeneron
• Familiarity with laboratory scale purifications (AKTA AVANT and AKTA PURE chromatography systems) and microbial detection assays (bioburden and endotoxin)

To be considered for this role you must hold a PhD in life sciences/engineering or related field, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Biomolecular Engineering. For various levels you must have the following:

• Process Scientist: PhD in life sciences/engineering or related field, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Biomolecular Engineering
• Sr. Process Scientist: PhD in life sciences/engineering or related field, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Biomolecular Engineering and 2+ years of relative experience

Experience with bioreactor, cell culture, microbial fermentation, and cGxP is preferred. Occasional off-shift or weekend work is needed. Level is determined based on qualifications relevant to the specific role.

$74,300.00 – $121,300.00
