Platform Operations Engineer – Linux, HP Hardware, Ansible – Fintech – New York/Chicago

Platform Operations Engineer is required to join a global FinTech business in their New York office (or Chicago office). This is a permanent position, offering $100,000 to $135,000 as a base salary.

Joining a global team, this person’s role will vary. The key focus will be to work through numerous client requests and troubleshoots that are logged via Salesforce. Currently the business manage and monitor 1000+ Linux Servers for multiple clients, and 100+ Windows Servers (as well as internal Servers). Roughly 85% of this role will be BAU/support (following ITIL) however, they will get involved in some project work (one such project is the rollout of Red Hat 8), they will also be involved in automation etc. Most of the hardware used is HP, so exposure to HP hardware is a requirement. The US team members follow 2 shifts to ensure smooth transitions between EMEA and APAC, via a follow the Sun model. In terms of person, the business need someone with strong Linux experience (preferably with RedHat certifications), who has experience with HP Hardware, and exposure to Ansible. A background in financial services would be great but not a must have.
