Private family in Orlando, FL seeks a knowledgeable, adaptable, and energetic Nanny/Therapist to primarily care for their school-age child, who has special needs. This is a 30-40 workweek position, live-out, primarily Monday to Friday with flexibility as needed. The family is looking for a long-term Nanny/Therapist, who will be able to assist in the ever-changing needs of this family alongside with another Nanny. The ideal candidate will be flexible, patient, willing to learn and have an interest towards education and/or children with special needs. The family is looking for someone warm, bright, energetic and organized who enjoys working in a team environment. The family will provide educational training to the candidate with Autism Partnership.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting in the daily care, nurturing, and supervision of the child
• Candidate must seek to create a playful, caring, safe, and inspiring atmosphere for the child
• Creating and engaging in age appropriate developmental activities
• Coordinating activities and accompanying the children to and from all engagements (appointments, classes, activities, etc.)
• Must strive to create a fun, safe, and supportive environment for the home, as well as developing a nurturing and trusting relationship for the child
• Preparation of light and healthy family-style meals for the child
• Cleaning and tidying up after the child; light housekeeping and laundry duties
• Additional Nanny/Therapist responsibilities as needed and requested by the principals
Requirements:
• Strong command of English language; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
• Minimum 3 – 5+ years of related full-time experience working in a private home in a similar role
• Knowledge of general First Aid and CPR certification
• Physically agile, fun, energetic and lively; able to keep up with active children
• Polished, poised and professional; use of utmost discretion and confidentiality at all times
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to adapt to the changing needs of the family
• Confident swimmer is required; able to supervise children in water activities
• Preparation of healthy meals and snacks for the children
• Valid Driver’s License REQUIRED; a confident driver with zero points on record and has their own vehicle
• Valid Passport REQUIRED; light travel with the family both domestic and abroad as needed
• Legally able to work in the United States
