Dairy One Cooperative is seeking a dynamic, hands-on leader for the Great Lakes territory. The Market Manager has responsibility for all aspects of the DHI Field technician team within their region, which includes overseeing sales, leading new business development, and managing team performance. This region covers Northwest PA, Northeast OH, along with two Southwest counties in NY. The Market Manager can live anywhere within these areas.

The Market Manager is responsible for leading a team of 5-7 techs who will create value for the company by building and maintaining strong relationships with clients. This is a hands-on management role that works closely with their team, leading training as well as performing DHI services as needed. You will work cross functionally at Dairy One to increase sales and maximize product line usage through customer service tactics and progressive sales efforts.

Our ideal candidate brings a passion for working in the livestock industry. If your strong in sales and looking to grow into a management role, we are open to candidates from various agricultural backgrounds such as genetics, feed, cattle, herd management, or relatable experience.

This role offers considerable autonomy with occasional overnight travel, and evening and weekend work may be required to meet the demands of the position. We offer a competitive salary based on experience, along with a company-provided vehicle and cell phone.

Essential Job Functions:
Supervision:

• Hiring evaluation, interview and selection of candidates
• Training and development of the team; Ride along with techs as needed
• Performance management- conduct regular evaluations
• Prepare monthly reports

Circuit Management:

• Assign/reassign/discontinue herds
• Apply AR policy
• Review DRSS mileage reimbursement and approve expenses
• Approve labor rate changes an schedule relief work
• Work with DRSS to maintain strong farmer relationships and sell products and services

DHI Testing:

• Comfortable working directly with dairy cows in a farm environment
• Perform DHI testing and relief testing on assigned circuit of farms

Dairy One Cooperative, Inc is a not-for-profit cooperative based in Ithaca, New York. We serve approximately 3,000 dairy farm members throughout the Northeast and mid-Atlantic region, providing a full range of services to the agricultural industry including: DHI testing, milk, forage, and soil analyses, software support, on farm technology, and agronomy services.
