For more information, visit . Summary of Role: GlobalFoundries Fab8 is seeking a Process Engineering manager in the CMP area in Malta, NY. The individual selected for this position will work together with other GlobalFoundries manufacturing groups at Fab8. The employee will manage process sustaining and improvement activities for manufacturing nodes in FEOL/MOL CMP, as well as technology transfer qualifications and implementation of new technology development. The areas of focus include shallow & deep trench, FIN, tungsten gate, and tungsten interconnect polish operations. Projects will include the development and optimization of all FEOL/MOL CMP processes for all active technologies, as well as working with other areas, such as equipment engineering, other process engineering modules, process integration, and defect inspection. In addition, the role will be accountable to for FEOL/MOL CMP tool process performance, cost of operation, and defect improvement plans. The scope of this role also includes managing the section manager responsible for the process technician team across all shifts, as well as the process shift engineers. Essential Responsibilities Include: Collaborate with GlobalFoundries technology integration, AME and manufacturing groups to delivery world class high volume manufacturing process and equipment results. Manage a group of engineers on the design, execution, and analysis of experiments to screen and optimize module unit process and equipment to meet technology (e.g., performance, yield, and reliability) and manufacturing (e.g., process stability, cost of ownership) targets. Be an effective coach to department/team and mentor to cross-functional engineers Provide management mentoring and strategic direction to the section manager and the process shift teams Oversee overall shift process team to ensure the team is meeting headcount needs and focused on growing the training and experience of the team. Work with integration and device groups to plan and execute projects and implement solutions on schedule. Engage with tool suppliers to meet equipment uptime and stability plans. Define and maintain module unit process and equipment roadmaps. Implement work improvement methods or methodologies to reduce defect density, costs, improve throughput or OEE, Cpk and create robust processes. Establish smooth operation of manufacturing through the establishment of robust manufacturing processes, clear operating procedures and quality systems. Other Responsibilities: Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs Required Qualifications: Technology related Bachelor’s plus 8 years of experience or Master’s plus 6 years of experience; or PhD degree plus 5 years of experience in CMP areas. 2-4 years of prior management experience or similar leadership role providing direction to others. Familiar with semiconductor processing and detailed Statistical Process Control (SPC). Ability to provide clear and concise communication to leadership team Capable of providing leadership to a team comprised of a mix of process engineers and technicians with clarity of priorities, goals, and strategic direction Preferred Qualifications: 10 years in process ownership of CMP in a HVM environment. > 5 Years of people management experience Understanding and knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE). Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, internal and external partners. Willing to manage a group of engineers with advanced degrees with strong history of people management experience.
