Job Title: Manager, Data Engineering (Python, AWS, Airflow, Snowflake) – Hybrid Role

Job Description:
We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team of passionate data engineers at Capital One. Together, we will create the next generation of data products and capabilities. Our goal is to build automated and scalable data pipeline frameworks, develop data APIs and delivery services, and transform complex analytical models into production-ready solutions. As a Manager of Data Engineering, you will lead a team in delivering these solutions and collaborate with Product Owners and customers in an agile environment.

Responsibilities:
– Develop sustainable data driven solutions using the latest technologies to meet the needs of our organization and business customers.
– Quickly adapt to new technologies to drive various initiatives.
– Solve complex data issues and build robust systems for long-term maintenance and support.
– Collaborate with teams and provide technical leadership and mentoring.
– Foster cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing.
– Provide technical guidance to team members.
– Manage a team of data engineers, including full-time associates and/or third-party resources.

Basic Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree.
– At least 6 years of experience in application development.
– At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies.
– At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
– At least 2 years of people management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
– Master’s Degree.
– 7+ years of experience in application development using Python, SQL, Scala, or Java.
– 4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
– 4+ years of experience with distributed data/computing tools (MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL).
– 4+ years of experience with real-time data and streaming applications.
– 4+ years of experience with NoSQL databases (Mongo, Cassandra).
– 4+ years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake).
– 4+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux and shell scripting.
– 4+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices.

Location and Salary:
– Hybrid On-Site in New York City: $197,400 – $225,300 annual salary for Manager, Data Engineering.
– Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on agreed upon number of hours.
