Job Description

Position: Manager, Data Engineering (Hybrid)
Location: McLean, Virginia, United States of America

We are seeking passionate and driven individuals from all backgrounds to join our team of data engineers at Capital One. Our goal is to create the next generation of data products and capabilities.

Job Responsibilities:
– Build automated data pipeline frameworks for high-volume and real-time data delivery
– Develop data APIs and delivery services to support critical operational and analytical applications
– Transform complex analytical models into scalable, production-ready solutions
– Integrate and deploy code into both on-premise and cloud environments
– Develop applications using modern technologies like Scala, Spark, Postgres, Angular JS, and NoSQL
– Collaborate with Product Owners and customers in an agile environment to deliver data products

Basic Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree
– At least 6 years of application development experience
– At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies
– At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing
– At least 2 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:
– Master’s Degree
– 7+ years of application development experience
– 4+ years of experience with a public cloud
– 4+ years of experience with distributed data/computing tools
– 4+ years of experience working on real-time data and streaming applications
– 4+ years of experience with NoSQL implementation
– 4+ years of data warehousing experience
– 4+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux and shell scripting
– 4+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices

Location-specific Salary Range: $197,400 – $225,300 for Manager, Data Engineering in New York City (Hybrid On-Site)
