Purpose for the Position: The Lifeguard is responsible for monitoring pool activity and facilitating safe and appropriate pool practices, rescuing and assisting those in need, providing instruction to participants and maintaining a clean pool environment.

The Lifeguard Essential Responsibilities:

-Caution swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards, and enforce and adhere to pool rules and regulations.
-Maintain order in the pool and adjoining areas at all times.
-Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning and administer First Aid when necessary.
-Responsible for safe water conditions such as chlorine and pH levels in the pool.
-Inspect facilities for cleanliness, complete general pool cleaning, and maintenance duties.
-Maintain clean environment by picking up used towels, trash, or any other obstacles that might be present.
-Provide general information on pool operation to patrons.
-Follow all direction given by supervisors or management.
