Responsibilities Performs seasonal, monthly, day-ahead, and intra-day gas purchases to ensure a 100% reliable gas supply at the best price to meet firm on system customer’s needs. Working knowledge of nominations used on the Northeast Pipelines. MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work – range of responsibilities): • Supports the purchase of natural gas for the Company, which meets customer requirements in a least cost and reliable manner. This includes executing purchases for on system requirements along with making off-systems sales and capacity releases. • Works closely with Gas Control to ensure system needs are met during all-weather conditions. Monitors all pipeline operational balancing agreements to ensure Company is within operational tolerances. • Maintains and verifies records of all transactions and usage related to gas ordered and flow of gas. • Ensures that capacity under contract is fully utilized and the maximum value is recovered. Optimizes all storage injections, withdrawals, and transports. • Supports Company contracts (commodity and transportation) to meet Company objectives in the OSS and Target Margin requirements. • Special projects and studies as assigned.Skills and Requirements • Requires Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Sciences • At least 7 years of experience in wholesale commodity acquisition and supply • Knowledge/experience in these areas desirable: North east natural gas capacity, transport, underground storage, and LNG • Must have strong knowledge of Natural Gas Markets, gas pipeline operations and nominating and scheduling of gas, financial analysis, and spreadsheets Skills/Abilities: • Must be able to work independently and make precise decisions under time constraintsCompetencies Develop Self & Others Empower to grow Collaborate and Share Be a role model Focus to achieve results Be agile Technical Skills Avangrid employees may be assigned a system emergency role and in the event of a system emergency, may be required to work outside of their regular schedule/job duties.
