GSOC / Security Systems Operator – Rochester, New York

Northland Controls are currently recruiting GSOC Operators to join their Global Security Operations Center in Rochester.

Here we continuously monitor the security of large, well-known organisations around the world, making sure their people and property stay safe.

Our Operators use the industry’s most advanced CCTV and access control systems combined with 21st-century computer power.

The job

From your desk, you’ll have eyes on your customers’ locations, including corporate offices and data centres, engineering facilities and other assets.

There’ll be a lot of tech at your fingertips to help you monitor and investigate situations as they arise, including control of cameras and real-time access to building and visitor data.

The routine parts of the job will mean helping customers with their enquiries, carrying out remote system checks and dispatching engineers to deal with any faults.

And then there’ll be the moments that could arise any time, where you’ll need to use your training and judgement to respond to incidents which could potentially be serious. That’s why it takes a special kind of person to do this job.

You

Experience isn’t necessary for these roles, but you will need real attention to detail, great powers of concentration and the ability to go from rest to full speed in seconds.

Our team includes former services personnel, college graduates and people who joined us from site security roles, but you could be from any background.

General Windows PC skills are important as the job’s heavily computer-based and you’ll need a confident, patient approach to customers.

Beyond this, we’ll train you fully in the world’s most advanced security control room systems and in the detailed procedures we use to assess and manage incidents.
