We are a new non-profit newspaper serving the Hudson Valley community of Red Hook, New York (not the Brooklyn one).

We seek a reporter to work mostly remotely but also to visit the Town at times to cover government and Board of Ed meetings (always at night), to write feature stories, to cover trends, and to do enterprise reporting.

You must be smart, careful, a fast and facile writer, a self-starter, and have meticulous attention to detail (like correctly quoting people).

You will get clips and mentoring from an award-winning journalist. We pay $200 for large stories, $75 for town meeting coverage. There are ample opportunities for growth.
