Job Title: Distinguished Engineer (Director IC) – Card Modernization

Job Description:

We are seeking a Distinguished Engineer who can bring their diverse and innovative thinking to solve complex problems at Capital One. As a Distinguished Engineer, you will have a significant impact on our trajectory and help us deliver next generation technology solutions.

Responsibilities:

– Increase awareness and drive adoption of modern technologies, sharing the benefits with stakeholders
– Foster an inclusive environment where all ideas are heard and championed
– Promote a culture of engineering excellence and reuse of solutions
– Effectively communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels
– Serve as a trusted advisor for specific technologies or capabilities
– Mentor and recruit talent to strengthen our engineering community

Required Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s Degree
– At least 7 years of experience in software engineering
– At least 5 years of experience in systems architecture

Preferred Qualifications:

– Master’s Degree
– 9+ years of software engineering experience
– 5+ years of experience designing cloud-native applications in AWS
– 5+ years of experience in cloud resiliency and distributed computing

Salary Range:

– New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $269,400 – $307,500 for Distinguished Engineer
– San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $285,400 – $325,700 for Distinguished Engineer
