As part of U.S. marketing, the Media Lab leads paid media efforts across the Biopharma group. The team partners with brands on media strategies to reach patients and healthcare professionals (HCPs). Core to this is advancing and innovating new media options, evolving our mix, and continually improving existing channels. The new Media Lab structure includes Planning and Platform roles to enable deeper brand insights and digital subject matter expertise.
The Director, Planning role is responsible for developing media strategies to deliver brand goals, while also achieving innovation priorities. The insight driven media plans will be grounded in a deep understanding of brand marketing strategies, target audiences, and media trends.
Lead media strategy, tactical plan development, and implementation across several brands/initiatives
Develop media plan recommendations for patients and healthcare professionals (HCPs)
Develop optimal media mix based on goals, target insights, and media usage
Partner closely with brand teams during strategic planning, ongoing KPI assessments, evolving media mix, and innovation priorities
Regularly partner with cross-functional colleagues in Finance, Procurement, Analytics, etc. as needed during development and management of media plans/buys
Establish clear digital KPIs and continually optimize plans
Lead brand digital media reporting and insights
Manage brand media budgets and forecasting
Ensure strong partnership and performance with consumer and HCP media AORs
Partner with Planning and Platform media colleagues in shaping and delivering on innovation roadmap and sharing portfolio learning
10+ years of agency or client-side media/digital planning experience with leading advertisers (pharma not required)
Bachelor’s degree required
Deep expertise in developing strategic media recommendations
Experience leading agency teams within an agency or client-side
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team-based environment
Core digital planning and optimization expertise across display, programmatic, video, social, and search
Strong presentation skills, and ability to translate media concepts for a wide variety of audiences
Knowledge of media measurement norms, media industry standards, and evolving data/privacy landscape
Accuracy in managing complex and dynamic budgets
Deep understanding of media landscape trends, opportunities, and challenges
Track record of digital media innovation
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
