Job Description

This position is for a vital member of the Derivatives Professional Services Group, which provides consulting and client support services for SS&C Technologies’ Debt & Derivatives software (D&D). D&D is a comprehensive mid-to-back-office processing and accounting solution for all issued debt and derivative life-cycle events. Supported financial products include swaps, swaptions, credit default swaps, total return swaps, caps/floors/collars, FRAs, issued debt, FX spots/forwards/options, exchange traded futures/options, equity and variance swaps, and equity index options. Clients include insurance companies, hedge funds, banks and corporate entities.

It is the role of the Professional Services Group to ensure a best-in-class user experience. Our clients’ needs constantly evolve with new products, regulatory changes, and revised accounting standards. Naturally, the D&D platform must also evolve. It is the role of the Professional Services Group to ensure that system functionality and user satisfaction remains consistently high. The ultimate task of the Professional Services Group is to be an advocate for the user while working as a liaison between clients and the D&D development team. Product support knowledge and relationship building are paramount. This position will be remote while the pandemic persists. Ultimately this position will be located in NYC (24w 25th Street) or Sandy Hook Connecticut.

Position Responsibilities

• Provide client support including application and derivatives subject matter expertise.
• Manage relationships with end-users to ensure reliable operations and client satisfaction.
• Strategically guide projects to the client’s desired outcome.
• Create an environment of continuous improvement by acting as a liaison between clients and the development team.
• Ensure that D&D can support new derivative product types and client initiatives.
• Draft specifications for system enhancements that meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations.
• Perform quality assurance testing of new system enhancements.
• Partner with clients to implement new accounting and regulatory requirements.

Position Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Math, Economics, Computer Science or other relevant discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in investment / derivatives operations or accounting.
• Strong knowledge of fixed-income products, FX, and derivatives.
• Strong relationship management, influencing and negotiating skills.
• Knowledge of market regulations.
• General proficiency in an MS Windows environment, MS Office, and Bloomberg
• Superior written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of derivatives accounting (ASC 815 & 820 / IFRS 9).
• Insurance accounting & regulatory experience, preferably with derivatives.
• Experience with SQL.
• Demonstrated project management experience.
