Derivatives Advisory Compliance Vice-President – New York, United States of America

Responsibilities:

• Provide regulatory advice and support, in connection with Dodd Frank Title VII regulations, to the SD and SBSD businesses derivative transactions;
• Monitor for regulatory changes, participate in industry associations, and advise on implementation efforts;
• Maintain close working knowledge of all applicable industry rules and regulations and work directly with stakeholders;
• Execute regulatory controls, including trade surveillance and monitoring;
• Evaluate new products, programs, services, and business initiatives to ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and internal policies;
• Collaborate with other Compliance professionals in delivering advice and support;
• Develop, review, enhance, and implement strategies, policies, and procedures;
• Assist in the preparation of management information reporting and governance materials;
• Assist with regulatory examinations and inquiries, internal audits, and compliance testing

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree at a minimum, but JD is strongly preferred.

Employment History:

• 5-10 years: Compliance, Legal, and/or Regulatory with Derivatives experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• In-depth knowledge and comprehension of derivative rules and regulations (e.g., SEC, CFTC, NFA), especially as they relate to derivatives reporting and SBS regulations, and ability to apply them in a practical manner;
• In-depth knowledge of the derivatives market, its products (cleared and bilateral), and its interaction with other products (e.g., futures, repo, loans), and infrastructure;
• Ability to adapt and adjust to multiple demands and competing priorities;
• Ability to adjust to new developments/changing circumstances;
• Ability to communicate and influence in a clear, simple, and concise manner regulatory requirements and possible impacts to businesses; critical thinker.
• Ability to understand complicated situations, distill them into simple terms, and issue spots where appropriate.
• Ability to convey a sense of urgency and drive issues/projects to closure;
• Ability to build relationships with and navigate multiple levels of the organizational structure;
• Great customer skills – the ability to manage expectations and develop practical solutions.

For NYC Job Applicants:

The base annual salary range for this position is $103,500-$155,000. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and location.

Frequent Minimal physical effort such as sitting, standing, and walking. Occasionally moving and lifting of equipment and furniture is required to support onsite and offsite meeting setup and teardown. Physically capable of lifting up to fifty pounds, able to bend, kneel, and climb ladders.
