Position: Deck Supervisor

Salary Range: $35 per hour

Schedule: 25 hours per week

Job Summary
We are a COVID-19 proactive organization that follows applicable health and safety regulations to help protect our members and staff. Reporting to the Physical Education Director the Deck Supervisor is responsible for management of BCNY’s Learn to Swim Program as well as other aquatic activities for members ages 7-21. Activities should focus on the physical, social, and educational development of BCNY members. He/she will collect and data to assist in identifying needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs designed to encourage safe swimming and healthy lifestyles.
Job Requirements
BCNY is a COVID-19 proactive organization that follows applicable health and safety regulations to help protect our members and staff. To that end, we require that all BCNY employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. BCNY requires all staff to receive a booster shot that protects against COVID-19 once they become eligible. New employees will be asked to submit proof of full vaccination prior to their start date. BCNY treats proof of vaccination confidentially and consistent with applicable law, and will not use the information for any purpose other than to ensure compliance with BCNY’s mandatory vaccination policy.

Qualifications
one season of previous experience as an aquatics director/deck supervisor at a New York State children’s camp or program
two seasons of previous experience consisting of at least 12 weeks as a children’s camp lifeguard which had more than one lifeguard supervising it at a time; or
18 weeks of previous experience as a lifeguard at a swimming pool or bathing beach, which had more than one lifeguard supervising it at a time
