POSITION SUMMARY : The position requires a dedicated individual who will take direction from the Office Manager in ensuring the cleanliness and efficient operations of the Howard Hughes NYC Office. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : Responsible for daily cleaning and support activities regarding office cleanliness Open and prepare office for daily operation Ensure all common areas are clean, neat and organized. This includes front lobby, conference rooms, mailroom, break rooms and kitchens. Unload dishwasher in the morning and turn on dishwasher before leaving the office in the evening. Light office cleaning as necessary during the day such as ensuring all glass through the office is clean and free of fingerprints and smudges Report items in need of repair Sweep and dust floors and stairways Wet mop floors Maintain an inventory of supplies in accordance with specific instructions Open or lock offices or rooms Turn on and off lights and equipment Move and arrange furniture and furnishings Clean grounds and area by performing such duties as picking-up paper or trash around cubicles Running office errands Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS : High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience Prior experience as a janitorial engineer or custodian preferred Knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals and operation of equipment Individual must be able to work independently Ability to maintain regular and prompt attendance is required Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities including pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES : Some college required. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred. WORK ENVIRONMENT : Dress code is business professional. Typical working days and hours will be Monday-Friday from 8:30 am -5:30 pm. Additional hours may be required Typical office environment.
