Job Description:

Manage assigned department by overseeing a staff of employees including supervisors and / or managers in the completion of complex operational processing, risk and control monitoring, reconciliation, complex problem resolution, management reporting and analysis in support of Loan Syndication Administration and Processing.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Monitor processes and procedures specific to assigned team to ensure compliance and effectiveness of controls to mitigate operational risk.
• Manage work distribution. Ensure staff are properly trained and developed to support responsibility scope.
• Engage with staff and peers as required to resolve complex problems through application of industry and experiential knowledge and skills.
• Lead or participate in cross-functional initiatives related to attainment of business objectives and strategies.
• Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience,
OR lieu of a degree,
A combined minimum of 7 years higher education and/or work experience including 3 years relevant experience
2 years supervisory/operations experience
