Team Description:
The AI Foundations team plays a crucial role in bringing our AI vision to life. Working with academia, we drive innovation and develop production systems. We collaborate with product, technology, and business leaders to apply cutting-edge AI techniques.

In this role, you will:
– Collaborate with a diverse team of data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers, and product managers to develop AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions with their finances.
– Utilize a wide range of technologies, such as Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, Lightning, VectorDBs, and more, to extract insights from large volumes of numerical and textual data.
– Build AI foundation models through the entire development cycle, from design to training, evaluation, validation, and implementation.
– Engage in impactful applied research to incorporate the latest AI advancements into next-generation customer experiences.
– Effectively communicate the complexities of your work and translate them into tangible business objectives.

– You have contributed to libraries or platform-level code and have demonstrated high-quality ideas in machine learning.

Basic Qualifications:
– Currently pursuing or obtained a PhD, or have an MS with at least 2 years of experience in Applied Research.

Preferred Qualifications:
Choose the set of qualifications that aligns with your focus
1. PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
2. LLM with PhD focus on NLP, or Masters with 5 years of industrial NLP research experience, with multiple publications on topics related to pre-training large language models.
3. PhD focus on topics in geometric deep learning, with multiple papers on training models on graph and sequential data structures.
4. PhD focus on topics related to optimizing training of very large deep learning models, with deep knowledge of deep learning algorithmic and/or optimizer design.
5. PhD focused on guiding LLMs with further tasks, with demonstrated knowledge of transfer learning and experience deploying fine-tuned language models.
6. Publications studying tokenization, data quality, dataset curation, or labeling.

Salary Information:
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role in specific locations are as follows:
– New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $230,000 – $262,500
– San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $243,700 – $278,100
