The Hilton Central School District has an anticipated vacancy for the position of Head of Security, Safety and Emergency Planning. This is a 10 month, 8 hour/day position.
Civil Service Title: Director of School Safety and Security
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science or Criminal Justice, plus five (5) years paid experience in an organized police department in the State of New York, a rank of Captain or above is preferred, plus two (2) years of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience supervising a school district; or as a police officer liaison to a school district (ex. D.A.R.E. Officer). Registration as a Security Guard required or able to obtain once hired.
Applicant must be currently working in this title or be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list, or to be eligible for a provisional appointment must meet the minimum qualifications listed on the Monroe County Civil Service Job Specification to be considered.
Director of School Safety and Security Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in an organized police department in the State of New York in the rank of Captain or above, two (2) years of which must have involved liaison work with school districts regarding security issues.
