What You Will Do:
We are looking for someone to help our Energy Providers Practice at Guidehouse grow and ensure customer satisfaction. This role involves working with energy system transformation and integrating new capabilities for our Energy Provider clients. You will have the opportunity to craft, sell, and oversee engagements that support our clients’ business and regulatory goals, while also delivering operational and customer benefits.
As the Account Director-Energy Providers North Market, you will be responsible for understanding the needs of our clients and matching them with Guidehouse’s offerings and solutions. You will work closely with the Account Lead, Solutions team, and other team members to sell and deliver solutions related to energy system transformations and business integration for electric and gas utilities. This includes building strong relationships with key stakeholders, collaborating with other teams at Guidehouse, and working with external partners. You will also have the opportunity to lead and support project teams, develop staffing plans, and provide oversight on client engagements. Communication and interpersonal skills are important in this role, as you will be working closely with clients and internal teams.
Responsibilities:
Work with the designated Account Lead, Solutions team, and other team members to sell and deliver solutions and strategies related to energy system transformations and business integration covering both electric and gas utilities
Develop long-term client relationships at the designated account(s) in the North region that will lead to repeat business, meeting and exceeding sales/revenue targets
Assist the assigned Account Lead with account planning, strategy and execution including conducting regular account team reviews, and action plans follow-through
Build deep trusted advisor relationships with key Utility and enterprise IT organization client stakeholders
Collaborate with senior consulting professionals in our delivery and solutions teams across Guidehouse to incorporate a broader range of Guidehouse offerings into new opportunities aligned with client needs
Lead and/or assist with the development of project staffing plans and the associated pricing strategy
Provide oversight on designated client engagements
Apply knowledge of utilities functions, utility and enterprise technologies underpinning client’s operations and shared services to support project delivery
Serve as a utility energy systems, enterprise technology, and business integration subject matter expert for client workshops, sales, and delivery
Execute client account administrative tasks such as management of opportunities from pursuit to close, adhere to Guidehouse documentation compliance associated with projects’ initiation, management, and closure, conduct projects’ backlog reviews and provide updates, work with PMs to ensure timely and accurate invoicing to clients
Develop statements of work and support Guidehouse-client procurement process
Work with the Account Lead and people managers to help ensure utilization of consulting staff involved with the account is optimal balancing client success and staff career progression
What You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree
Must have 10+ years of professional work experience with technology consulting and technology implementation including utilities industry excluding internships, co-ops, graduate research, and fellowships
Executive level large commercial client experience with a background and understanding of utilities IT/OT and enterprise technologies
Technology/Systems implementation experience
Demonstrable experience leading business development (writing proposals, identifying opportunities to expand the scope or provide additional services while delivering a project to a client)
Demonstrable experience implementing technology solutions
Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrable verbal and written communication skills
Superior interpersonal skills
Demonstrable experience managing, coaching, and mentoring staff
Proven track record managing complex projects and delivering high-quality outputs
Ability to extract insights and meaning from qualitative and quantitative information and translate into strategic advice for clients
Ability to travel extensively as needed
Must work Eastern Time zone hours
Currently reside in the contiguous United States. Candidates within 50 miles of a Guidehouse office may be required to work a hybrid work schedule instead of 100% remote
Must be a U.S. citizen or a U.S. permanent resident (valid Green Card)
The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described
The salary range for this role may vary depending on degree, directly relevant work experience and physical location
