Job Description

The Academic Medical Advisor / Group Facilitator provides academic advising to students and leads in-person and online learning sessions. This individual plays a key role in helping students develop the required skills to master a difficult and lengthy licensing examination. Group facilitators have long-term experience with the medical licensure process and/or have navigated through at least part of the USMLE process.

The Group facilitator will lead various learning sessions including content-based discussions covering USMLE® Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 3 topics, These sessions are held both In-Person and Online. The facilitator remains neutral or objective, keeps the discussion focused and energized, and creates a friendly and interactive environment that will enhance student participation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Run weekly workshops focused on the residency/USMLE® application and review process and weekly guided content-based review sessions
• Strong presentation skills; both in-person and on camera
• Strong understanding of USMLE content and the Match process
• Assist in creating USMLE style questions
• Assist in creating new Powerpoint slides on match process
• Review USMLE style questions
• Create an environment for effective communication
• Advance and deepen the discussion.
• Provide an opportunity for all voices to be heard.

Requirements

• Medical Degree
• USMLE Step 1 Passing Score
• USMLE Step 2 CK Passing Score [strongly preferred]
• Prior teaching / presenting experience [strongly preferred]
• Previous customer service experience
• Excellent communications skills in English
• Other languages would be a plus
