Job Summary

We are looking to hire an Executive Director who will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and executive oversight to all aspects of the Software Development and Engineering department projects and activities. In this role you will be responsible for developing business objectives, project standards and performance goals (within assigned areas) that are competitive with industry standards. You will provide leadership and direction for diverse and complex functions and contribute to the development of the organization’s business strategy. You’ll interpret business strategy and develop organizational objectives to align with this strategy. As a leader in the FreeWheel Data Platform teams, you’ll be responsible for managing a global team of 80 professionals. Responsibilities

• Creates , define s , and drives organizational strategies and execution plan s .
• Identif ies , evaluates , and recommend s software and solution s that enable Freewheel to work with Petabytes or 10s of 100s billions of records per day quickly and economically .
• Focus es on execution, establish es mechanisms to ensure smooth operation and data quality.
• Communicates and establishes relationships with vendors and other functional areas of the business.
• Provide s leadership and mentorship to team members to ensure their professional and career growth.
• Work s with architects , partner with product management teams across platform and departments to influence decisions on architecture and product directions.
• Responsible for operation budget, strive to do more with less while making investment recommendations when opportunity arise.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

• 10 years or more experience in managing engineering teams as leader-of-leaders, with 5+ year managing teams of 50+.
• Experiences in building enterprise data and analytic platforms
• Experience in relevant data products, solutions, and services, e.g., Snowflake, Databrick s .
• Effective speaking and writing skill (will ask for sample writing)
• Preferred but optional, understanding online video business, the TV and cable industry and the challenges facing both the industry, content owners and distributors.

Bachelor’s Degree
