Job Title: Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Engineer
Location: McLean, Virginia, United States
Capital One is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cybersecurity solutions to protect data from risks. Job Responsibilities:
– Use your expertise in data protection technology to design and implement tools that safeguard data from cyber risks.
– Analyze the problem space, document your approach, and work with architecture to define the target state architecture.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute technical resolution programs.
– Maintain close relationships with stakeholders, developers, and engineers to ensure our services meet their evolving needs.
– Communicate extensively with Data Protection Product and engineering teams.
– Collaborate with partners in different teams to resolve dependencies with data loss prevention products.
– Design, build, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure to meet our organization’s requirements.
Qualifications:
– You are an expert in data loss prevention tools.
– You have a strong understanding of web proxies, email security, and endpoint solutions.
– You pay attention to detail and can clearly articulate key details in both conversation and technical writing.
– You can drive complex technical initiatives to completion, leveraging your knowledge of cybersecurity practices, software engineering principles, agile frameworks, and customer engagement.
– You can foster collaborative working relationships with technology groups and stakeholders.
– You have excellent communication skills and can effectively interact with leaders at various levels of an organization.
– You have experience managing high-impact enterprise cybersecurity projects with cross-functional teams.
– You have a passion for technical delivery, product security, software development practices, or platform engineering.
– You have hands-on knowledge and expertise in building and securing technology, including operating systems, databases, virtualization, cloud computing environments, and networks.
– You can troubleshoot, investigate, configure, and support data loss prevention products.
Basic Qualifications:
– High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
– At least 4 years of experience in cybersecurity or information technology
– At least 3 years of experience in the data protection field
– At least 1 year of experience with Symantec Data Loss Prevention (DLP) infrastructure engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science
– 3+ years of experience in scripting and solving cyber technical challenges
– 3+ years of experience in the Agile delivery model
– 3+ years of experience in public cloud security and multi-cloud environments
– 2+ years of experience in IT Delivery projects and technical writing
– 2+ years of hands-on experience with JIRA
– 2 or more professional certifications in cybersecurity (CISSP, GIAC, CISM, CCSP, CISA, or Security+)
– 1 or more professional cloud certifications (AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solution Architect – Associate, AWS Developer – Associate, AWS Security – Specialty, or AWS Solution Architect – Professional)
Salary Range:
– New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $161,900 – $184,800
– San Francisco, California (Hybrid On-Site): $171,500 – $195,800
Please note that salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on agreed-upon hours. Other locations will have their own salary ranges.
